DOE has completed all remediation activities at the Mound site in accordance with applicable Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act regulations and is turning the site over to the Mound Development Corporation for industrial reuse.

DOE continues to monitor groundwater and conduct periodic inspections, efforts that no longer require an on-site office. On September 19, 2011, LM's Mound office was consolidated with the Fernald Preserve office in Harrison, Ohio.
