GRAND JUNCTION, CO —The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management (DOE–LM),
the Wind River Environmental Quality Commission (WREQC), and the Northern Arapaho Utility Organization are hosting a public meeting to discuss progress made toward ground water cleanup at
the Riverton, Wyoming, Processing Site. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday,

The Riverton Site is in Fremont County, two miles southwest of the city of Riverton and within the boundaries of the Wind River Reservation (Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone) on land now owned
by the State of Wyoming. The site is the location of the former Susquehanna-Western, Inc., uranium and vanadium ore processing mill that operated from 1958 to 1963. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss initiatives undertaken by DOE and Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribal representatives to ensure residents’ protection from contaminated surface and ground water on lands surrounding the former mill site and to provide open communication about the actions being taken.
