About the Conference:  Leaders from various sectors will engage in an intensive two-day learning forum.  The program format will address needs and challenges of community-based organizations, municipalities, business and industry, limited resource farmers and faith-based groups. It will highlight successful collaborative partnerships that work to meet needs and challenges of these entities. Program speakers will include representatives from Federal and state agencies, private funding organizations, municipalities, business and industry, academic and community groups. This interactive forum will give participants an opportunity to network and interact with government decision-makers and program managers. All conference participants will realize informative and supportive resources as well as gain ideas for successful projects and collaborations that can support their goals and objectives. Conference participants will also gain knowledge of approaches, such as Environmental Conflict Resolution and Cooperative Conservation, which promote environmental stewardship and produce results through innovation and collaboration.

Conference Participants Can Expect to Receive:

  • Notice of additional Federally funded programs and face to face discussions with government decision-makers and program managers;
  • An opportunity to enter into a partnership with an institution of higher learning to, among other things, help prepare proposals and manage projects; and,
  • An opportunity to join a coalition to maintain communication between and among partnerships, and between and among the partnerships and Federal agencies.


Target Audience:
 The two-day leadership conference is for Federal, state and local officials; college and university administrators; limited resource farmers; and community and faith-based organization officers and members.

In order to get the conference room rate of $115.00, reservations must be made on or before May 31, 2006. Reservations received after May 31, 2006 will be honored on a space available basis at prevailing rates. To get the conference rate, mention the “DOE/EPA Partnerships Conference.”
