David Geiser
David Geiser

Dave graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree and received his commission in the U.S. Navy in 1981. He served in the Navy for eight years as a nuclear-trained officer on the USS Daniel Webster and at the Naval Sea Systems Command.  After leaving the Navy, Dave received a Master of Engineering Administration degree from The George Washington University and joined Science Applications International Corporation. During his three years with SAIC, he spent two years in Paris evaluating European waste management practices.

Dave joined the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management in 1991 and has served in several capacities: international programs, high-level waste research and development, complex-wide planning and integration, providing assistance in the deployment of new technology, and developing policy and guidance for long-term environmental stewardship. Dave started work in the Office of Legacy Management as the as the Director, Office of Policy and Site Transition, on December 14, 2003. Dave became the Deputy Director, Office of Legacy Management, on May 8, 2005.
