The Shirley Basin South disposal site was a uranium-ore-processing site addressed by Title II of the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act (UMTRCA). The site transferred to the Office of Legacy Management in 2003 and is administered under the provisions of a general NRC license. The site requires routine inspection and maintenance, groundwater monitoring, records-related activities, and stakeholder support.
